Note: This story is written by me, Paige Hebert. I wrote this one years ago back in high school, finding my rough draft years later and changed the grammar recently to at least make it look good. Also, this story is complete fiction, not based on a true crime, just wanted to share an old story I wrote before. I also thought this story would be good to share for the spooky season since Halloween is coming really soon this month.

The day came so fast for Janelle, a girl from Des Moines, Iowa. Her family moved to a big, old, squeaky house in a small town of Norwalk, Iowa. Her mother worked in a huge business for auto insurance, but quit her job to become an employee clerk for a small pet store. Her dad is a house husband, and Janelle herself is a babysitter to one of the neighbor’s children. Janelle used to go hang out with her friends after school, but now works part-time to the kids next door who are spoiled and horrible towards her. Janelle’s little brother, Jackson, is a thirteen year old boy who is having all the fun that Janelle wishes she had again. Jackson and Janelle both have also moved to a new school, making it easier for Jackson since he didn’t have any friends back in Des Moines. Janelle came back home from babysitting to talk to her dad.

“Dad… why am I always the one working and Jackson gets to do whatever he wants?” Janelle said.

“Jan, honey, he’s only thirteen. He has his own friends now, he’s a teenager just like you. You are older than him, however, you have a job to put food on the table just like your mother.”

“Dad, I don’t want to babysit anymore! The kids next door are little brats who have no worry about anybody else except themselves! I wish we were back in our old house and not this piece of shit!” Janelle yelled out.

“Young lady, you know I don’t like that kind of language,” her father said.

Janelle’s mother came home after the argument with her and her father, saw Janelle’s eyes as they grew wide and angry as she started to cry.

“Jan, what’s wrong? Tell me,” her mother said.

“She’s upset because she’s not back home in our old house. She hates her job and she hates that she doesn't get to hang out with her friends anymore,” her father said.

“Janelle, if you want, you can quit your job anytime.”

“Angelica, are you crazy!?” Janelle’s father asked in shock.

“I’ll never quit my new job, and I don’t plan on doing that,” Janelle’s mother said.

"Ian, look at her. She’s not happy at all, I see her stressed out almost everyday, and I know you see that too, dear.”

“Angie, we can’t afford just one person working for the money… I mean, Jan has as much responsibility as you - “

Janelle’s father was interrupted by her mother when she said, “Think about our children, god damn it! Not everything is about you! All you are is just my house husband who cleans and cooks for me!”

“What did you say?” the father asked with his eyes wide open.

“That’s right,” the mother replied. “That is all you are… a cleaning, cooking, and stubborn house husband. You honestly think that I would let you try to hurt me or our children? You think you’re so special with your smartass comments, while I’m trying my best for this family.”

The father went silent, he got down on his knees on the floor as he cried quietly in front of his wife and his daughter. Janelle felt so bad about the fight starting, she went to her dad and held him by the shoulders.

“Mom, dad, sis, I’m home!” Jackson said inside the house.

Jackson saw the family, he was worried and went to his dad. “Dad, what happened?”

“Mom and dad were arguing. Dad? I’ll still work if it makes you happy, I just had a bad day, that’s all,” Janelle said with her arms around her father.

“I’m sorry, Ian. I didn’t mean anything I said. Can you forgive me, dear?” the mother asked in concern.

Janelle and Jackson both took their dad upstairs to lie down on the bedroom bed, Jackson went to the kitchen to give him a glass of ice water. Their father’s tears are dry and red from crying, as for their mother, she went upstairs to comfort him.

“Kids, why don’t you both go to your room until dinner is ready,” the mother said.

The next day went better, the whole family stayed at home for the teenagers’ father. Janelle decided to take a day off of her job, and so did her mother. Jackson didn’t want to hang out with his friends to spend time with them. The father made a big dinner for them all as they ate their dinner.

Before dinner was over, the family heard a loud thump from upstairs, thinking nothing much of it first. However, the loud noise quickly became from a thump to the sound of a broken glass. The parents ran upstairs to see what it was while Janelle and Jackson were worried sick. When the parents searched where the noises came from, they couldn’t find anything. There were no broken windows, nothing was stolen from any room, and there was no dirt on the ground, everything was normal. The whole family decided it was nothing afterwards.

As the night came, the house was making the same strange noises again from earlier, except it came from the family room downstairs instead. The mother went downstairs with her flashlight on to see what was going on, but there was nothing she found.

“Angie, what’s going on down there!?” the father asked as he saw light downstairs.

“Nothing, dear! I heard some - “

The mother is interrupted by another woman in the house as she sees in front of her, the intruder went to the mother quickly and slit her throat deeply to the bone. The mother fell down dramatically hard accidently as she was left bleeding to death, and suddenly died seconds later before the father could even find her. He found his dead wife on the entrance floor with blood all over it, screaming out of his lungs and panicked with fear. He quickly went to the phone, but the intruder went behind him, grabbed him by the jaw to cover his screams, and stabbed him on the forehead as he passed out. He died seconds later in the intruder’s arms. The kids finally woke up after hearing their dad’s screaming downstairs, Janelle grabbed her phone from her room to turn on her flashlight, Jackson followed Janelle, and both of them were fearing for their lives.

“Dad!? Are you okay!?” Janelle asked with her hands shaking.

“Dad!? Where are you!?” Jackson yelled behind his sister.

Janelle stepped on the blood where both of their parents were laying, the kids screamed as Janelle flashed her light from her phone to their gruesome, dead parents. The intruder slowly showed up in front of the frightened teenagers, slowly walking towards them. Janelle decided to grab the broken flashlight their mother was using, it was covered in blood. Janelle threw the flashlight towards the intruder, but the intruder’s eyes were glowing red and disappeared out of trace. Janelle went to the phone and dialed 911, but found out that the phone was completely dead. Janelle tried to dial her own phone, but there were no bars left. The intruder was right behind her, leaving Jackson screaming out as soon as he saw her behind Janelle.

“Jan, behind you!”

She quickly saw the intruder, but the intruder snapped Janelle’s neck to her death, leaving Jackson to quickly open the door to run through one of the neighbor’s houses. He knocked the house's door forcefully and begged someone to help him. Luckily, someone was still awake, a woman named Kenni quickly opened the door for him as she saw him panicking and scared.

“Help me! My whole family is dead!” he said with extreme fear to her.

“Did you call the police yet?” She said in worry.

“The intruder in our house cut off all the lines in our phones!”

“Okay, you stay here with me, I’ll lock the door, and I’ll call the police.”

“Okay,” Jackson said as he’s still shaking from the horror.

The police and ambulance came to the family’s home to investigate the crime scene, the ambulance took the dead bodies, and neighbors came out to the scene. Police went inside the house to find blood on the bathroom mirror that says “Don’t come closer” and decided to put police tape around the house until the investigation was over. As for Jackson, he lived with his Aunt a day after the incident and still remembers the ultimate, true nightmare he witnessed that night. As for the intruder, nobody has found her since then.

Hello everyone, it's Paige Hebert. I'm here to tell you why I have titled this journal, it's because I am changing my profile page here on DeviantArt. Why I'm deleting a lot of my artwork I worked on in the past is for these reasons:

  1. Some of the work look terrible to me now. That doesn't mean I won't post them on how much my art has changed on other social media platforms for comparison. It's just that my art skills are WAY better than what I showed everyone back around my middle school and high school days.

  2. Some of the work are not my style as much anymore, I used to be into hippies and even into some trendy things around the time, but that shows how badly my work has aged. I now am more Gothic and Alternative, and that's how I want to be until it's time for me to go out of this world.

  3. I want to show how more professional my page is. As you might see from my page, I am not here to show you sketches from my sheets of paper or how badly I took them anymore, I have learned not to do that anymore. That's what my Instagram and Twitter are for.

  4. I have fanart that I used to admired in the past, but now I really don't like because of the bad things they now have done and the controversies around them that I don't associate with. We all have our phases and people we used to look up to, but sometimes you have to just go with what you don't appreciate with anymore because who they are now.

  5. I have made fanart in the past that are NSFW, which I do NOT make anymore since I have matured and thought of people or fictional characters WAY better than that now.

  6. Finally, just because I want to make this page better. I want to have my page as for who I represent and for why I started my DeviantArt account, to make ART! Not to impress others who only care about trends and staying relevant.

I posted this video last week on YouTube, but I wanted to post this video about my hatred towards the "charity" Autism Speaks since I am in the Autism Spectrum myself.

This is all my opinion on what I think about nudity in art, please don't harass me on this subject if you don't agree with me. Also, this video is age restricted by me because I don't want this video taken down by YouTube's algorithm.

This is my first movie that I have created, it may be only around over 10 minutes, but I only had enough clips from my animated shorts and animated tests to finish this movie. This movie doesn't have a plot or a story, but I just wanted to create something unique and at least worth 10 minutes of your time. Sit back, relax, grab some popcorn, and enjoy the movie while it controls what you watch.
